One year on the market: a positive interim assessment
Our electric actuators have established themselves in the industry and are proving their worth in practice

A year ago, we launched our electric actuator – with the clear aim of setting new standards in an established sector. Today, it is clear that this approach is paying off. Our electric actuator delivers wherever precision, flexibility and a holistic systems approach are required – and has also proven itself time and again in practice.

Electric actuators are no longer a niche product. Advantages such as energy efficiency, precision, flexibility, cleanliness and easy integration enable their use in numerous standard applications. However, we have deliberately gone one step further: the modular product family combines standardisation with a high degree of customisation, thus enabling tailor-made solutions ‘off the shelf’.
“It was clear to us that comparable products already existed,” says Ilja Dreher, Team Leader for Electric Actuator Development at HIWIN. “Our aim was therefore maximum differentiation – an electric actuator that feels familiar, but breaks new ground in the crucial details.”
These differences are evident in the consistently modular design, the high level of configurability and the expanded integration options – for example, through additional T-slots as well as bendable screw-connection and centring options. At the same time, the core of the system is based on our many years of expertise in the range of ballscrews. High-quality spindle materials and optimised ballscrew nuts significantly increase load ratings and running performance.
For users, this results in clear advantages: low-vibration motion, reduced noise, higher speeds and an overall longer service life. These characteristics directly address the key requirements of modern automation solutions – particularly where precision and process reliability are crucial.

The electric actuator has already established itself in practice: It is used in handling and positioning applications, in assembly processes and in test systems. The modular sizing allows for rapid adaptation to different requirements without the need for complex custom designs.
However, we create added value not only in the product itself, but in the entire system: from digital sizing through configuration to rapid delivery, we offer a seamless, efficient process. On request, customers receive a fully coordinated package comprising electric actuators, accessories, motors and control technology – all from a single source. “We regard not only the finished product as ‘smart’, but the entire journey leading up to it,” says Dreher. At the same time, development is ongoing: we are continuously working on expanding the product family as well as on additional functions and options.

The conclusion after one year: our electric actuator represents the shift from a standalone product to an integrated system solution – powerful, flexible and tried and tested in practice. Companies wishing to make their applications more efficient, precise and future-proof should take a closer look.
