Our custom linear axis solution forms part of an automated system for the manufacture of automotive plugs. The system combines several process steps – from punching and cleaning the Pins to their precise feeding into the injection moulding process, as well as the subsequent removal and placement of the finished components.
The solution we have implemented is based on an HT-L linear motor axis in the X-direction, combined with two cantilevered YZ systems. The Y-axes are of the HT-B type, being toothed belt table axes, whilst the Z-axes are two HC-B toothed belt-driven cantilever axes. The system is complemented by a customised energy chain connection on all axes. The complete system handles key handling and positioning tasks within the production process. The special axis arrangement makes optimum use of the available installation space and fully utilises the working area. The linear motor axis ensures highly dynamic and precise positioning along the main axis, whilst the YZ systems handle the exact gripping, feeding and depositing of the components. After punching and cleaning, the pins are transported precisely to the injection moulding machine via our axis system, where the moulding takes place. The finished plugs are then removed and distributed evenly into bulk bins. The custom system is sized to meet the specific requirements of the application and enables efficient integration into existing plant layouts.
