DATORKER® strain wave gears – Functional principle and design
DATORKER® strain wave gears consist of three main components: Wave Generator, Flexspline and Circular Spline. The Wave Generator is the drive element. It consists of an elliptical disk and bearing. When set in rotation by the motor, it transforms the Flexspline into an elliptical contour. The Flexspline is a thin-walled elastic inner ring with external teeth. Due to the elliptical deformation, its teeth engage in only two opposite points in the teeth of the Circular Spline. The Circular Spline is a rigid outer ring with inner teeth that always has two more teeth than the Flexspline. This difference in the number of teeth produces the characteristic movement.
